Executive Secretary of the Forum
We are now in the final sprint to the historic date of 21 March 2022. This calls on us to consolidate our shared vision and our common dedication to the cause of water and sanitation, and to renew our collective commitment to take up all the challenges together, in solidarity, and in inclusive and constructive dialogue between all the families of actors.
I am thinking in particular of civil society, young people and women, who are already present at all levels and at all stages of the preparatory process, to tell them once again that they have more than ever a place in the Forum; that they are fully involved, as full players, alongside all the other actors.
In this decisive fight for access to this common good, for the effectiveness of the universal human right to water, dispersion and confrontation will not benefit the cause, nor any family of actors. It is united that we will win. This is why I am calling for a positive spirit of co-construction so that, together, we can give a decisive boost to MDG6, particularly in order to achieve all the MDGs by 2030.
The stakeholders' meeting that has just been held in Dakar has shown that the world is fully mobilised, Africa is more determined than ever, Senegal is ready... Let's head for the Forum of responses, the Forum of successes.
