Jakarta – The Indonesian Defense Forces (TNI) together with the National Police (Polri) are keen to take precautionary measures in securing a series of activities of the 10th World Water Forum in Bali, scheduled for 18-25 May 2024.
Operations Assistant to the TNI Commander Major General Gabriel Lema said that TNI would carry out high-level security ahead of the arrival of the delegations until the completion of this world's largest water forum.
"The security measures will be implemented in the Nusa Dua area of Bali and in other designated venues, such as Ubud, Lake Batur as well as other popular tourist destinations. We ensure that Bali is safe from detrimental actions," said Major General Gabriel Lema during a meeting with World Water Council’s President Loïc Fauchon in Jakarta, this week.
On the same occasion, Vice Chairman of the Secretariat of the National Organizing Committee of the 10th World Water Forum 2024 and Spokesperson of the Ministry of Public Works and Housing, Endra S. Atmawidjaja hoped that the organization of the 10th World Water Forum 2024 in Bali could run smoothly and safely.
“To secure the arrival of Heads of State and Ministers, we hope that the TNI and Polri will continue to make preparations. Tightened security measures must be implemented for the arrival of delegations at I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport and during their mobility between designated hotels and the forum venues. These include the deployment of officers at the event venues," said Endra.
The arrival of the President of the World Water Council, Loïc Fauchon, to Indonesia, accompanied by the Director of the Asia Pacific World Water Council and the 10th World Water Forum, Yoon-Jin Kim, aims to see the latest progress of preparations for the 10th World Water Forum which will be held in less than two months.
