Jakarta- The National Stakeholders Forum (NSF) is held as part of the 10th World Water Forum 2024. This third forum serves as an official announcement to international stakeholders about the upcoming event while also confirming strategic water management challenges.
Minister of Environment and Forestry Indonesia, Siti Nurbaya Bakar, said that the meeting was crucial for sharing experiences and innovations in response to various challenges in global water management, including land resource under the authority of the Ministry of Environment and Forestry.
"Both the development of land resources and water resources are equally important. We determine the carrying capacity of the environment using the water measures, so indeed the politics of water resource is very importent," said Siti Nurbaya Bakar at the National Stakeholders Forum (NSF) of the 10th World Water Forum- Third Announcement at the Auditorium of the Ministry of Public Works and Housing, Thursday (19/1/2023).
Secretary General of the Ministry of Public Works and Housing, Muhammad Zainal Fatah, said by looking at the 6 sub-themes of the main theme " Water for shared Prosperity", the 10th World Water Forum 2024 event requires the involvement of all stakeholders in the management formulating a better management of water resources as a global action.
"Here, the role of Indonesia's experience at the G20 event was acknowledged, so that later there will be a political process. Besides, it is also important the we should provide space for youth, not only from Indonesia but also from all participating countries. "We actually borrow water the young generation,' Zainal Fatah explained.
On this occasion, Zainal Fatah also invited the 3rd Announcement Nasional Stakeholders Forum participants to attend the upcoming 10th World Water Forum Kick-off Meeting is to provide participants with essential information regarding the World Water Forum's framework and participation in its preparation. The Kick-off Meeting is the first step in preparing for the World Water Forum which will be express their perspectives and concrete action plans for addressing challenges in the water sector," said Zainal Fatah.
At the 3rd Announcement event, Water Experts of the Ministry of Public Works and Housing, Arie Setiadi Moerwanto and Firdaus Ali, were also present as keynote speakers on the participation of all elements for the policy-making, regional, and thematic segments. Arie Setiadi conveyed the roadmap for the 10th World Water Forum to stakeholders and encouraged them to actively participate in order to ensure the success of the forum.
"This meeting is also a platform for all stakeholders to actively formulate the substance of better water resources management," said Arie Setiadi.
This meeting also maked the announcement of the National Organizing Committee (NOC) for the 10th World Water Forum, as stated in Presidential Decree (Keppres) No. 1 of 2023 concerning the National Committee for the Organizers of the 10th World Water Forum in 2024. This event was held in response to the signing of a framework agreement between the World Water Council and the Indonesian government in November 2022, which officially marked the start of the series of holding the 10th World Water Forum in Bali, Indonesia. The Coordinating the committe's chairman, and he was supported by a daily chairman led by the Minister of Public Works and Public Housing, as well as a deputy chairman, the Governor of the Province of Bali. The National Committee for organizing the 10th WWF is made up of representatives from both ministries and the provincial government.
