Bali, April 25, 2024 - Indonesian government is accelerating its preparations for the 10th World Water Forum, which will take place from May 18th to May 25th, 2024, in Nusa Dua, Bali. One of the Preparations is the reception of delegations of Heads of State/Government/Leaders of international Organizations, who are VIP participants.
The Ministry of State Secretariat of the Republic of Indonesia (Kemensetneg) has invited representatives of related ministries/agencies to the agenda of the Site Visit Preparation for the 10th World Water Forum on April 25th, 2024. The visit focused on finalizing preparations for registration, zoning regulations, vehicle movement, health, and media.
During the event series, the invitees reviewed the supporting facilities and infrastructures of the 10th World Water Forum. Additionally, the delegation visited several designated venues of the forum, namely Garuda Wisnu Kencana Cultural Park, Bali International Convention Centre (BICC), and the Ngurah Rai Mangrove Forest Conservation Area (Tahura Mangrove).
The Tahura Mangrove Rehabilitation and Conservation Area serves as the location for the Leaders' Visit of the 10th World Water Forum. This area implements the Balinese teaching principle of Tri Hita Karana, which emphasizes the balance of relationships between God, humans, and environment.
Previously, the G20 Summit in Indonesia designated the Bali Mangrove Forest as a location for mangrove planting by the President and G20 leaders. The government will continue this mangrove planting initiative at the upcoming 10th World Water Forum.
Firdaus Ali, Special Advisor to the Minister of Public Works and Housing in the Water Resources Sector, hopes that the organization of the 10th World Water Forum can be well-prepared, considering that Indonesia is set to welcome high officials such heads of state/government leaders.
"We are striving to ensure the supporting facilities such as logistics, catering, security, and health," said Firdaus during the preparation visit for the 10th World Water Forum at Garuda Wisnu Kencana (GWK) Cultural Park, Thursday (25/4).
Meanwhile, Setya Utama, Secretary of the Ministry of state Secretariat, emphasized that in hosting the forum, Indonesia not only wants to demonstrate its readiness as the host country but also the greatness of cultural aspects related to nature and water.
"Indonesia certainly wants to demonstrate the success of hospitality in organizing the 10th World Water Forum. In addition to hospitality, equally important, Indonesia wants to showcase the greatness of Indonesian culture related to nature and water, which conveys a massage to the world," said Setya Utama while inspecting preparations for the Leaders' Visit at the Tahura Bali Mangrove Forest Area.
Indonesia also encourages the involvement of students and academics to support the smooth running and success of the event. Third, preparations involve enhancing a multi-sectoral and inclusive approach to produce comprehensive and sustainable policies and action plans.
As the forum's leader, Indonesia is ready to introduce innovation that have been and will be implemented in water management, such as the use of technology for water efficiency in various sectors like agriculture, industry, as well as river basin management and strategies for adaptation and mitigation of hydro-meteorological disasters.
