Located about thirty kilometres from the Senegalese capital in the Dakar-Thiès-Mbour triangle, Diamniadio is a new city that is emerging, with its planned trains, highway, convention centre and housing.

It was designed with strategic priorities and the most appropriate planning and development options in mind to address major economic and demographic issues. The objective set by the authorities is to relieve congestion in the city of Dakar thanks to its urban centres, its industrial zone, Dakar second university, its motorway projects. This is how big projects such as Blaise Diagne International Airport and the Integrated Special Economic Zone (ZESI) were born.
