In 2023, the Astra Group achieved a 23.66% reduction in water intensity, with 17,337 megaliters of water withdrawn from four sources: ground water, surface water, sea water, and water purchased from third parties. This reduction in water withdrawal was accomplished through various initiatives, including the reuse of wastewater and the utilization of reverse osmosis wastewater technology.
Astra dedicated to adhering to industry-standard regulations for wastewater disposal resulting from operational and industrial activities. In its management approach, Astra strives to implement recycling and reuse strategies for a portion of the wastewater in production processes, thereby mitigating associated impacts and reducing the amount of water withdrawn from the environment.
