The Provision of clean water for the global communities is becoming increasingly challenging due to the rapid growth of population and urbanization. As the global population grows, there is also an increasing need to balance all the competing demands for the limited water resources. This situation is further exacerbated by climate change, disrupting the hydrological cycle in almost all regions.
According to the projections of the World Resource Institute in 2019, by 2020, there were 49 countries facing high levels of water scarcity. This number is expected to increase to 59 countries by 2040. Solutions to this water crisis will be discussed by various stakeholders at the 10th World Water Forum, scheduled to take place in Bali from May 18 to 24, 2024.
As the host country of the 10th World Water forum, the Indonesian government invites all countries and the global community to participate in this cross-border forum, especially the younger generation who will shape the future. The 10th World Water Forum provides a unique opportunity for the youth to contribute to addressing the water crisis.
