Nusa Dua - World Water Council’s President Loïc Fauchon visited three venues dedicated to the side events of the 10th World Water Forum in Bali, scheduled for 18–25 May 2024. The three venues included Kura-Kura Bali, Melasti Beach, and Garuda Wisnu Kencana (GWK).
The visit of World Water Council’s President Loïc Fauchon in Bali today, Thursday (28/3/2024) was accompanied by the Chairman of the Secretariat of the National Organizing Committee of the 10th World Water Forum who is also the Secretary General of the Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing, Mohammad Zainal Fatah.
"We invited the President of the World Water Council, Loïc Fauchon, to visit these three venues to see firsthand the locations that we will use for side events of the 10th World Water Forum," said Zainal.
Furthermore, Melasti Beach, with a capacity of around 2,000-2,500 people, is planned to be the venue for the Water Purification event. Meanwhile, Garuda Wisnu Kencana with a capacity of around 2,000-2,500 people will be used as the Gala Dinner venue.
On the same occasion, World Water Council’s President Loïc Fauchon expressed his appreciation to the Indonesian government as host country of the 10th World Water Forum. Based on observations during his visit to Jakarta and Bali, he assessed that Indonesia has shown its readiness to host the largest water forum event in the world.
"I appreciate the efforts made by the Indonesian government in preparing this big event for the 10th World Water Forum. I hope that activities outside the forum, specifically the side events, can be organized in a more casual and joyful ambiance, so as to make the activities enjoyable to the delegates and invitees," said Loïc.
The visit of the President of the World Water Council Loïc Fauchon to Indonesia, accompanied by the Director of the Asia Pacific World Water Council and the 10th World Water Forum, Yoon-Jin Kim, aims to see the latest progress on preparations for the 10th World Water Forum which will be held in less than two months.
Apart from visiting the venues for the 10th World Water Forum event in Bali, World Water Council’s President Loïc Fauchon also has meetings with a number of officials, including Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan, Minister of Public Works and Housing Basuki Hadimuljono, Minister of Home Affairs Tito Karnavian, Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy Sandiaga Salahudin Uno, Head of BMKG, and Indonesian Armed Forces/National Police (TNI/Polri) officials.
